I am a USAC Level 1 Professional Cycling Coach based in San Diego, California. I have provided online cycling coaching to competitive athletes across the United States since 2006. My coaching is built around structured training principles grounded in exercise physiology and objective performance data.
USAC Level 1 is the highest coaching certification issued by USA Cycling, the national governing body for competitive cycling in the United States.
Coaching Approach
My coaching is data-driven. Athletes train using either a power meter or a heart rate monitor, depending on their setup and event goals. Power meters provide the most objective measure of effort, but structured training works with either tool when zones are properly calibrated.
Training plans are built around each athlete’s current fitness baseline, individualized training zones, and the specific demands of their target events. Plans are delivered through TrainingPeaks and updated weekly based on performance data and the athlete’s schedule.
Each training program is customized to the athlete’s current fitness, history, and goals.

What makes your coaching different from a training plan app?
I write individual plans based on your data, adjust them weekly based on what the numbers show, and have been doing this for nearly two decades. The difference shows up when life interrupts your training or your numbers plateau. See athlete results.
