Payment

Coaching fees are billed monthly in advance. Payment is due by the 1st of each month. Coaching access is paused if payment is more than 5 days late.

Auto-Renewal: Monthly coaching is a recurring subscription. Your payment method on file is charged automatically each month and will continue until you cancel. No separate renewal notice is sent before each monthly charge. You can cancel at any time by providing 30 days’ written notice (see Cancellation below).

One-time services, such as aerodynamic testing (wind tunnel, ERO, or field testing) and training camps, are due at time of booking.

Your monthly coaching fee includes a complimentary TrainingPeaks Premium account for the duration of your coaching. If your coaching ends, your TrainingPeaks account reverts to the free Basic tier. You keep all of your training history and data; you just lose Premium features unless you choose to pay TrainingPeaks directly for your own subscription.

All sales are final. All fees are non-refundable, including monthly coaching and any one-time services.

Monthly coaching: You can cancel your coaching subscription at any time with 30 days’ written notice. You’re responsible for payment through the end of your current billing cycle.

Medical hold: If injury or illness keeps you off the bike, notify me and coaching can be placed on hold for up to 3 months at no charge. Billing pauses during the hold and resumes when you’re ready to return.

Scheduling and Communication

Communication frequency and training plan updates depend on your coaching program level, as outlined on the Coaching Programs page. This covers message limits, phone call cadence, and calendar update frequency for each program.

Coaching communication happens through TrainingPeaks messaging, email, phone, and text. For urgent, time-sensitive issues (injury, illness, major schedule change), call or text (619) 721-3058 or email gary@garytingley.com.

Athlete Responsibilities

Athletes are expected to:

  • Complete assigned workouts and log data (power, heart rate, RPE) consistently
  • Communicate injuries, illness, or major life changes that affect training capacity, so the plan and any medical hold can be adjusted
  • Wear an approved helmet and follow all traffic laws during outdoor rides
  • Maintain their own equipment in safe working condition

Nutrition and Equipment Guidance

Any nutrition, supplement, or equipment recommendations provided as part of coaching are general training guidance only. They are not medical, dietetic, or professional bike-fitting advice. I am not a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or certified bike fitter. Athletes should consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to diet, supplements, medications, or equipment. Athletes remain responsible for the fit, maintenance, and safe condition of their own gear.

Assumption of Risk and Liability

Cycling and cycling-related training carry inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury. Before beginning coaching services, all athletes must sign a Waiver and Release of Liability. Coaching services will not begin until this waiver is on file. That Waiver, not this policy page, is the controlling document for liability limitations and release of claims; nothing on this page modifies or replaces its terms.

Athletes are responsible for carrying their own health insurance and consulting a physician before beginning any new training program.

Weather and Safety

For outdoor group rides or sessions, Gary Tingley Cycling Coach LLC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule due to unsafe weather or road conditions. Athletes will be notified as early as possible.

TrainingPeaks Account

Your training data (workouts, power, heart rate, and related files) is hosted on TrainingPeaks. Use of the TrainingPeaks platform is governed by TrainingPeaks’ own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, separate from this coaching agreement. This page governs your coaching relationship with Gary Tingley Cycling Coach LLC; it does not replace or modify TrainingPeaks’ own terms for the software itself.

Privacy

Personal and performance data (health information, training data, contact information) is used only to provide coaching services and is not sold or shared with third parties, except as required to deliver services (e.g., through the TrainingPeaks platform) or by law.

Photo and Media Release

By participating in coached rides, clinics, or events, athletes agree that Gary Tingley Cycling Coach LLC may use photos or video taken during these activities for promotional purposes, unless the athlete opts out in writing.
